Winery Notes:
Pierre Naigeon, who inherited this 120-year old estate in the mid-nineties, believes passionately in sustainable farming, without the use of any herbicide. He looks to produce wines full of fragrance, revealing the natural terroir. The average age of his vines is remarkably high, mostly over 50 years. This ensures deep roots, nourishing the vines from many different lays of soil, to produce the most complex wines, and reduces the natural level of cropping, providing more concentrated wines.
Viticulture:
The vines are Guyot trained. Organic fertilizers are used but the vines are never treated with herbicides.Green harvest before and manual grape selection in the vineyard. Hand harvest
Vinification:
Hand harvest and quality selective picking in the vineyard. Cold maceration for 9 days then fermentation for 20 days. Ageing 'sur lies' for 12 months in oak. Unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Note:
Traditionally made Burgundy but with a modern twist of fresh, ripe fruit with integrated new oak flavours. Smooth and elegant.
