Chateau Routas - Wild Boar Rose
Winemakers Note:
A lovely wine from inland Provence which is proving increasingly popular in the U.K. The vineyard is owned by Sir David Murray, an entrepreneur with a well developed interest in wine. The Wild Boar Rosé is lovely and light, not too expensive, yet very, very, good. Chateau Routas is operated by an energetic, experienced and enthusiastic team. The wine is modern, dry, crisp and refreshing, and makes for easy drinking with or without food.
The woods at Routas are teaming with wild boar, who have a habit of sneaking into the vineyards at night during the height of harvest season, seduced by the aromas and rich taste of the ripe fruit. Whatever is left goes into this excellent rose.
Tasting Note:
Pleasant, light berry fruit, type aroma and you may also detect a little of what seems like mint. Nice and dry with a crisp finish. Versatile with food, especially grilled white meats and seafoods.
