David Prow founded Cross Stobs Bottle Shop in 2010 as a retail unit. David believed that his days would be spent tasting wine and chatting to customers, basically his ideal job. Unfortunately to make a success of the business he soon learned (his accountant told him) that tasting wine was only one small part of the business. So the sleeves were rolled up and the focus for the business became stocking the best possible range of wines at the right price in an environment that is inviting, friendly and occasionally tidy!

Having formed links with some of theUK’s leading wine importers, the Company has expanded into the field of E-commerce and trade sales to restaurants, hotels, café’s etc.

A brief introduction to David 

David - Passionate about all things grape! David’s philosophy is wine is for everyone (It used to be wine is not just for people who wear tweed but he has started to wear a little tweed himself these days)!

Ask about his favourite wine and he will answer that the best wine is always with good friends at special occasions (He really wants to answer with red wines fromSpain, the more expensive the better, especially if they are samples).

David used to spend a lot of time away from wine playing football but since early retirement he now spends his time commenting on others trying to play, mainly on twitter @prowdavid
